What 훈 means
Context supplies the exact meaning.
Hangul writes Korean in syllable blocks; ㅎ, ㅜ, and ㄴ combine as 훈, pronounced roughly “hoon” with the vowel in “food.”
훈 is the Sino-Korean reading of 訓, a Hanja meaning “teaching” or “instruction.” In 훈독, a Hanja is read for its meaning rather than its sound. Hangul was devised in 1443 and explained in 1446 to make Korean easier to write; the explanatory work is titled 훈민정음.
How do I type 훈?
Type ㅎ, then ㅜ, then ㄴ with a Korean input method.
The input method joins those letters into one syllable block. It enters 훈 in Hangul; it does not select the Hanja for a name.

Questions people ask
1Why does 훈 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
