What 횆 means
Use the Korean 2-set keyboard and enter the parts in order. On its standard QWERTY mapping, g gives ㅎ, h then o builds the compound vowel ㅙ, and w adds final consonant ㅈ. The input software combines them as 횆.
This sequence is for 2-set, also called Dubeolsik. A 3-set or other Korean layout uses different keys, so select the 2-set layout in your input settings first.
Does 횆 mean anything by itself?
Its role comes from the Korean word around it. 횆 is a precomposed Hangul syllable block: initial consonant ㅎ, compound vowel ㅙ, and final consonant ㅈ. In ordinary Korean writing, the full word supplies the meaning; standing alone, read it as a syllable fragment unless the sender gives context.
Hangul was first announced in 1443, and Hunminjeongeum, the book explaining the script, followed in 1446. The writing system was created to make Korean easier to write; it later appeared in religious works, Korean translations of Confucian texts, and practical or public writing.
Inside a Korean word, it is neutral; alone, it reads like a syllable fragment without its word context.
If it arrives alone, ask what word or context it belongs to before assigning it a message.

1Questions people ask
1Why did 횆 split into separate jamo?
A text app can store it in Unicode's decomposed form (NFD), which shows the three joining Korean letters 횆 instead of one precomposed block. The composed form (NFC) recombines them as 횆. They encode the same syllable; an app that requires one block may need NFC.
