What 폹 means
As of September 2026, it has no established meaning by itself.
Hangul, the Korean writing system, joins individual letters called jamo into square syllable blocks. It was devised at King Sejong’s court in 1443, when written Korean relied heavily on Chinese characters. A 1446 explanatory book, Hunminjeongeum, described the script’s design and goal of making Korean easier to write and learn.
Unicode decomposes 폹 into ᄑ, ᅩ, and ᆴ: the starting consonant, vowel, and final consonant cluster. On a standard Korean 2-set keyboard, that final cluster is entered as ㄹ followed by ㅌ.
Someone sent me 폹 alone. How should I read it?
Treat it as an unexplained syllable, not a tone cue.
If it arrived inside Korean text, use the surrounding word to read it. If it came alone, ask the sender what they meant.

1Why does Korean input sometimes show ㅍㅗㄹㅌ separately?
The input method may not be composing Hangul syllables, so it leaves the four letters separate. With Korean composition enabled, V H F X forms 폹.
