What 턲 means
The Unicode label “teogg” describes its parts; it is not a word translation. The block combines initial consonant ㅌ, vowel ㅓ, and final consonant ㄲ. Unicode generates “teogg” from the components’ short names.
Before Hangul, Korean writers adapted Chinese characters in systems called Idu, gugyeol, and hyangchal; these had limits. Hangul offered a more direct way to write Korean speech. It entered use alongside the older methods and became the standard Korean script.
How do I type 턲?
Use a standard Korean keyboard layout called 2-set. Enter ㅌ, then ㅓ, then Shiftㄱ for final ㄲ; the Korean input method joins them into one block.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 턲 split into separate letters when I edit it?
It can. Some software stores Hangul in decomposed form (NFD), splitting one block into separate consonant and vowel letters. NFC can recombine them; the two forms represent the same text. Whether they appear joined depends on the software and font.
