What 왙 means
It writes one syllable; its meaning comes from the Korean word it belongs to.
ㅇ is silent at the start, ㅘ makes a quick “wah” sound, and ㅌ ends with a clipped t. Hangul groups letters into syllable blocks to write Korean speech. Its earliest record dates to 1443; Hunminjeongeum, a guide to the script, was published in 1446. Before Hangul, Chinese characters were used in Korean writing. Modern spelling follows a 1933 proposal, partly revised in 1988.

1Why does 왙 sometimes split into jamo?
It is a Unicode normalization difference: NFC stores the syllable as one block, while NFD exposes its jamo (individual Hangul letters). Both forms represent the same syllable.
