What ᱇ means
It stands for the number seven. The Lepcha script is thought to have been devised around 1720 by Sikkim’s king Chakdor Namgyal. It was based directly on Tibetan writing: the Tibetan forms that preceded it were written in vertical columns, while Lepcha runs in horizontal lines from left to right. Lepcha texts include lessons, letters, calculations of auspicious times, and religious works. A writing-practice book dated 1846 is an early surviving example.
