link

Link

🔗 usually means “here’s the link.” The chain-link emoji flags a hyperlink: a website, article, sign-up form, or the link in someone’s bio. It can also mean a connection between people or things, but it never makes text clickable by itself.

What 🔗 means

It points to a web destination or a connection.

Beside a URL (a web address), 🔗 says “follow this.” Beside “link in bio,” it sends you to the link on someone’s profile page. The chain-link shape is the same one text editors use for their insert-link button.

With no address or destination in sight, it can mean “we’re connected” or “these go together.” Let the rest of the message decide.

Practical rather than emotional: a small signpost.

A link marker is not automatically a working link.

Combination ideas

3
The link is the address that follows.
The link is further down, such as in the comments or replies.
We’re connected now: a partnership or collab.

Worth knowing

  • 🔗 is a single code point, so it survives copying through almost anything — old databases, SMS gateways, printer drivers.

Questions people ask

2

Is the link emoji clickable?

Not by itself. An app or author can attach a hyperlink to 🔗, just as to other text. The character alone creates no clickable destination.

Why do posts say “🔗 in bio” instead of giving the link?

Because a web address in an Instagram caption usually isn’t tappable; as of 2026, clickable caption links were only a limited test. So the working link sits on the profile, and 🔗 marks where to find it.
