What 𑅪 means
It writes the b consonant, not a word by itself. Mahajani often leaves vowel signs unwritten, so the word supplies the vowel; clusters use full letters in sequence. The dot is part of 𑅪; nukta is a separate mark that can modify some letters.
What was Mahajani used for?
Merchants and bankers used it for business writing. They kept account books, bills of exchange, diaries and letters in it.
Mahajani is based on Brahmi, an early South Asian script, and resembles Landa scripts from Punjab and Sind; Landa scripts are related to Sharada, another historical South Asian script. A printed Mahajani primer dates to 1875.
The name can also mean a merchant style of other scripts, including Gujarati, Dogra and Devanagari; that label alone does not identify this exact script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑅪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
