What 𖩒 means
It briefly closes airflow in the throat. English speakers can hear a similar catch between “uh” and “oh” in “uh-oh”; linguists call this a glottal stop.
Menlay Murang devised the modern Mro alphabet in the 1980s to restore Mro writing; it later entered primary schools. Mro oral tradition says a cow ate the god Turai’s book, destroying an older sacred script. In Mro naming, Mro-cha means “human beings”; neighbors called Mro people Murong, “strangers.” As of 2026, this tradition does not establish a direct ancestor for Murang’s alphabet.

1Why does 𖩒 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
