What 𖩑 means
It marks a vowel in Mro writing. “Oo” is a label written in Latin letters, not a sound cue. Its value is u-like or o-like by word: 𖩄𖩑𖩁𖩌𖩑 means “owl”; 𖩌𖩑𖩗 means “village.”
In the 1980s, Mro leader Menlay Murang developed the alphabet alongside Krama, a new Mro religion, to revive Mro writing. It later spread into schools, community texts and online use. Reports from 2026 describe Mro books, blogs, social posts and smartphone keyboards in Bangladesh; Mro speakers in Myanmar use the same alphabet.
