What 𖩕 means
It is one letter in the Mro alphabet, not a word by itself.
Thea is the letter's name, not a translation. Like other alphabet letters, it helps spell Mro words; read the surrounding letters and words to understand the passage.
Who created the Mro alphabet?
Menley Mro created it in the early 1980s.
According to his nephew's account, Menley began the alphabet in 1981, completed it in 1982, wrote the first Mro poems and songs in it in 1983, and published it in 1984. He developed it alongside Krama, the religion he founded; the script is also called the Krama alphabet.
Before the Mro alphabet, most Mro village schools taught through the Marma alphabet, used by the neighboring Marma people and closely related to Burmese writing. That was the school context, not the script's ancestry: the Mro script is unrelated to other scripts. It also serves ordinary Mro writing.
Why does 𖩕 appear as a box?
A font without Mro coverage can show a box or question mark.
𖩕 is a text character drawn by the active font. If that font lacks Mro glyphs, the letter may appear as a box or question mark; a font with Mro coverage can display it. Changing fonts can change the letter's outline, but not its encoded identity.
In Mro text it is neutral as a letter; by itself, the glyph gives no reliable message to someone who cannot read the script.
