What ⇱ means
Think of the corner as the start of the text. ISO/IEC 9995-7, the international standard for keyboard symbols, uses ⇱ for Home and the mirror-image for End. Its symbols are meant for keycaps, on-screen keyboards and instructions, so the key can be shown without words in any language.
A handy way to remember it: the arrow travels up and left until it hits a wall. In a text editor Home usually goes to the start of the current line, CtrlHome to the top of the document; in a web browser it scrolls to the top of the page. The exact stop depends on the program.
Neutral and technical: a label for a key, found in manuals, help pages and keyboard diagrams.
Outside a keyboard context, readers may take it as a plain diagonal arrow.

4Questions people ask
2Does typing ⇱ move my cursor?
No. It inserts a picture of the key as text. To jump to the line start, press the actual Home key.
Where is Home on a Mac or laptop?
Many Mac keyboards lack it: FnLeft Arrow acts as Home, while CmdLeft Arrow jumps to the line start. Some compact laptops put Home on Fn plus an arrow key; the combination varies.
