What 𐒎 means
It represents the consonant written q in modern Somali.
Osman Yusuf Kenadid devised the alphabet between 1920 and 1922 after Arabic-based spellings left some Somali sounds unmarked. A few relatives first used Osmanya in private letters. After World War II, the Somali Youth League promoted it in schools; a 1959 account describes many learners as young, often women. Both Latin and Osmanya were adopted for use in 1961; Latin became official in the early 1970s.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𐒎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
