What ㈲ means
In Japanese company names, ㈲ marks a 有限会社, a limited-company form.
Japan legislated this form in 1938 for smaller firms; it took effect in 1940. Its rules were simpler, and ownership transfers were restricted.
From 2006, Japan barred new 有限会社. Existing firms continued as 特例有限会社, a transitional special limited-company status.
Japanese business shorthand; outside company names, its meaning is easy to miss.
Without company context, 有 may read as the ordinary “have” character.
