What ⸋ means
It marks an omission in a scholarly edition. In New Testament textual criticism (comparing manuscript copies), ⸋ starts a passage some copies leave out; the apparatus (editor’s notes) gives the variant. The Nestle–Aland New Testament edition introduced these NT sigla (editorial signs); a Unicode proposal from 2003 records prior scholarly use, not their origin.

Questions people ask
1Why does ⸋ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
