What ꣖ means
It means six in Saurashtra writing. Its value stays six, whether it appears alone or inside a longer number. Saurashtra publications also use Tamil, Telugu, and Devanagari scripts; their digits are distinct from this native Saurashtra set.
How did Saurashtra writing develop?
The writing system has a multi-script history. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Saurashtra was first written with a version of the Telugu script. A separate Saurashtra alphabet developed in the 1880s. T. M. Rama Rai’s work on type, books, and teaching helped bring it into print. From the end of the 19th century, Saurashtra publications used Telugu, Tamil, Devanagari, and the Saurashtra script.
Why does ꣖ show as a box?
The selected font may lack a Saurashtra glyph. Without a drawing for this numeral, an app may show a box, blank space, or fallback shape. A font with Saurashtra coverage can display it.
Neutral numeral; using it identifies a choice of the native Saurashtra script.
Outside Saurashtra-script text, readers may not recognize it as six.
