What 𑗈 means
It marks the preceding Siddham text for repetition. Siddham is an Indian script found in Buddhist manuscripts; a scribe placed this repeat sign after a passage instead of writing the repeated words again.
The mark family is linked to northern Indian manuscript practice, where digits written after words could signal repetition. In East Asian Buddhist Siddham, related marks also guided readings: 𑗇 marked a doubled reading in vertical text and was glossed with 〱, a Japanese vertical kana character used as a reading aid.
A specialist Siddham manuscript sign; related repetition marks also appear in East Asian Buddhist texts.
Read it as an instruction to repeat the preceding text, not as a number.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𑗈 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Siddham block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
