What ㌞ means
It is a one-cell Japanese form of コーポ, an apartment label.
A Japanese dictionary cites コーポラス in a 1965 novel by Tatsuzō Ishikawa. It tentatively traces the word to an abbreviation of the English phrase “corporate house” and defines it as a concrete mid- or high-rise apartment building; コーポ is a shorter form. The date is for the word, not this glyph.
㌞ compresses コーポ into one square-shaped character cell. Japanese property names use the ordinary spelling コーポ.
Questions people ask
1Why does ㌞ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
