What ㎁ means
It denotes a nanoampere.
A nanoampere is one billionth of an ampere; nA combines n for nano with A for ampere.
Why is ㎁ in a square?
The box preserves a fixed-cell layout.
Older East Asian character sets gave Latin abbreviations square cells, matching the width of East Asian characters. Unicode keeps this form for compatibility.
Should I use ㎁ or plain nA?
Use plain nA in ordinary text.
Some software replaces ㎁ with nA during text normalization, removing the square.

Questions people ask
1Why does ㎁ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
