What means
Use a Sunuwar keyboard layout. Kloko is a Unicode text letter, so your input method must support Sunuwar; a font with Sunuwar coverage is also needed to display it.
What sound does Kloko represent?
It marks a brief closure in the throat. This sound is called a glottal stop, and Kloko writes it inside Sunuwar words.
The modern Sunuwar script was developed by Krishna Bahadur Jentich in 1942 to write the language. By the turn of the 21st century, Lal-Shyakarelu Rapaca and other users had added Kloko to represent the glottal stop more precisely.
Sunuwar writing in Nepal and Sikkim follows different models. In Nepal it is alphabetic: consonants and vowels have separate letters. In Sikkim it follows an abugida model, where a consonant letter carries a default vowel that vowel signs can change. Spellings therefore differ by region.
As of 28 April 2026, Sunuwar had no formal spelling standard: the Sunuwar Welfare Society promotes one repertoire, while Sikkim Herald uses another. The Unicode proposal notes Latin-shaped influence and a later letter borrowed from Limbu, aal; these are specific influences, not evidence that the whole script descends from either one.
Technical and language-specific; Kloko belongs inside written Sunuwar words.
Do not use it as a decorative apostrophe or general pause mark.
