What 𑚛 means
The consonant da in Takri, a western Himalayan script.
Takri is a lineage, not a single invention: Śāradā, the script of Kashmir and the northwest, led through Devāśeṣa in the 13th–14th centuries to a distinct Takri by the 16th. It served Chambeali, Dogri, and other Pahari languages in records and trade. As of 2026, revival returns it to signboards.
Dogra Akkhar, Jammu's form, is encoded separately; Landa and Gurmukhi share the Sharada line. Regional fonts may draw it differently.
What does it mean when someone sends 𑚛?
Usually a letter sample or transcription cue.
Ask which language or form the sender means; the letter alone cannot say.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑚛 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
