What 𘠥 means
It marks a piece used to analyze larger Tangut characters. Unicode and modern Tangut references use components to break characters into parts, index dictionary entries, and show how a character is assembled. Component-038 is a modern scholarly label, not a Tangut word. Component systems differ, so references may divide and index characters differently.
The Tangut script was created in 1036 for the Western Xia state, also known as Xixia. It supported administration and a Buddhist canon; surviving texts also include Confucian, encyclopedic, military, and literary works. A surviving Khara-Khoto manuscript probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century. The script's design drew on Chinese writing and neighboring Khitan scripts, yet formed a distinct system.
Why does 𘠥 look like a box?
The active font cannot display this Tangut character. A box is a missing-glyph marker, not another form of 𘠥. Fonts with Tangut coverage may draw its strokes differently; a blank square usually means the active font lacks Tangut support.
Used alone, it signals technical work involving Tangut-script study, dictionary indexing, or Unicode character analysis.
It identifies a component, so it has no standalone word translation.

1Why does 𘠥 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
