What 𘡋 means
Use hexadecimal Unicode input and enter U1884B.
Your input method must accept hexadecimal code points. If the result appears as a box, the selected font lacks Tangut coverage; the encoded character is still 𘡋.
Does Tangut component 076 have a meaning?
It is a structural index entry, not a standalone Tangut word.
In Unicode’s component inventory, 𘡋 labels a piece used to analyze larger Tangut characters. By itself, it has no fixed translation or pronunciation; its role can only be understood within the complete character.
How did Tangut writing develop?
Tangut writing began in the Xixia, or Western Xia, period.
The script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor to write the Tangut language; it appears in official, private, and religious texts. Chinese writing influenced its design, but Tangut characters are not simply Chinese characters borrowed intact.
After Western Xia ended, Tangut writing continued in Yuan and Ming contexts before becoming obsolete. Khitan and Jurchen are other northern scripts from the same broad era, useful for comparison; being nearby does not make either the source of 𘡋. Tangut dictionaries did not all group characters by the same parts. Unicode brings published component lists together, and 076 identifies this entry in the modern lookup system.
Scholarly and technical: this points to Tangut text analysis, dictionary indexing, or Unicode work.
Do not translate 𘡋 as a standalone Tangut word.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘡋 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
