What 𘥼 means
It is a reference component for Tangut characters. Dictionaries sort characters by component and stroke order, but their systems differ. Some components act as radicals, the main headings for entries; Ideographic Description Sequences (IDS) arrange them to show character structure.
Tangut writing was created around 1036 for Western Xia government and Buddhist scriptures. A manuscript from the ruins of Khara-Khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century. Official, private, and religious writing continued into the 16th century.
Tangut writing can resemble Chinese at a glance, but it is a distinct script. A box means the font or app lacks Tangut support.
Technical and scholarly; mainly for dictionary lookup.
Its Chinese-like shape does not make it Chinese or give it a Chinese reading.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘥼 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
