What 𗋸 means
Its recorded reading is reconstructed; it does not give a dependable English translation.
Unicode's Tangut source data links 𗋸 to scholar Lǐ Fànwén's catalog entry L3527. A manuscript index gives that entry the reconstructed reading mja (roughly “mya”) and a Tibetan sound note, ma.
Use mja as a sound clue. To work out the word, read 𗋸 in its surrounding Tangut text and consult a Tangut dictionary; the sound note alone is not enough.
When was Tangut writing used?
It served a state, then outlasted it.
Tangut was created under Western Xia's first emperor around 1036 for government, literature, and religion. Western Xia is also known as Xixia. Surviving material includes official and private documents, inscriptions, books, and Buddhist sutras.
After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut continued in use during the Yuan and Ming periods before becoming obsolete.
Is 𗋸 a Chinese character?
No; it belongs to Tangut, a separate script.
Tangut characters have a square design that can resemble Chinese characters, but that visual similarity does not make them Chinese writing or interchangeable with Chinese characters.
A scholarly, archival, or typography context fits this character better than casual chat.
Treat mja as a sound clue, not an English meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗋸 show as a box?
A font issue: the current font lacks Tangut coverage, so it cannot display 𗋸. The box is a missing-glyph marker, not another character.
