What 𗍐 means
It transcribes three historical Chinese syllables in Tangut dictionaries. Two Tangut rhyme dictionaries dated to the 12th century, known in English as Sea of Writing and Homophones, list 𗍐 as a transcription of syllables associated with 欽, 琴 and 慶. Middle Chinese is a historical stage of Chinese reconstructed from rhyme dictionaries and other texts; these entries record sound links, not modern Chinese meanings.
Tangut writing, also known as Xixia writing, was established under ruler Li Yuanhao in 1036 as part of Western Xia state-building and a distinct Tangut identity alongside Song China. Tangut texts include Buddhist translations, legal and Confucian works, military writing and literature.
Tangut and Khitan scripts are compared as part of the broader medieval history of writing in the region. The comparison concerns the scripts; by itself, it does not connect 𗍐 to a particular Khitan character.
How do I type 𗍐?
Use a Tangut input scheme based on scholarly reconstructions. A phonetic Tangut keyboard maps reconstructed readings to character choices; its spelling is an input code, not a modern Chinese reading.
Why is 𗍐 showing as a box?
The font lacks the Tangut glyph. If the text displays as a box or replacement mark, the font being used does not cover Tangut. A Tangut-capable font can show the character’s shape.
Historical and specialist: it belongs in discussions of Tangut writing, not as an ordinary modern Chinese character.
Its Chinese-like shape does not make it a modern Chinese character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗍐 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
