What 𗒤 means
Tangut dictionaries gloss 𗒤 as “to tie.”
A dictionary records its reconstructed reading as kwa (roughly k followed by a brief w-glide into a). The Tangut script was developed around 1036 for official and cultural writing under the Western Xia state, a medieval state.
A document dated 1070/1071 is an early example of Tangut writing. Its characters resemble Chinese characters, but Tangut is a separate script; it continued in use into the Yuan and Ming periods.
Why can’t every font show 𗒤?
It needs a font with Tangut coverage to display.
If it appears blank or as a box, the selected font or app lacks a drawing for this character; that display failure does not change its meaning.
A character-structure record writes it as 𘡊𘣤𘥇: 𘡊 sits above the two side-by-side lower parts, 𘣤 and 𘥇.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗒤 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𗒤\174A4Why is 𗒤 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
