What 𗒼 means
In Tangut, 𗒼 means “to mix.”
Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary lists it as entry 4850, a catalog number useful in older references. Its encoded structure places 𘡊 above 𘦞 and 𘢌; these are graphic components, not definitions.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia emperor Li Yuanhao as part of state-building; a Tangut Buddhist canon was likely one goal. The nearby Khitan people had developed scripts earlier, and Tangut creators followed that example. They also drew visual principles from Chinese writing while recording a different language. Tangut texts include Buddhist scriptures, Confucian works, military treatises, and literature; use continued into 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗒼 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
