What 𗓎 means
In Tangut, it denotes mixing.
An English index to Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary gives the gloss “to mix” and the reconstructed reading lwụ. That spelling is scholarly notation for an inferred historical Tangut pronunciation, not Mandarin.
A single character is not a full translation: Tangut uses characters in words and compounds, so the surrounding sentence matters.
When did Tangut writing begin?
It was created around 1036 for the Tangut language. Under the first Western Xia emperor, the script served official, private, and religious writing, including books, Buddhist sutras, inscriptions, and manuscripts. Its design drew on Chinese writing, but Tangut is a distinct written language.
The exact character appears in Sea of Writing, a Tangut rhyming dictionary (a reference organized by sound), at position 63.232 in the mid-12th-century text.
Specialist and historical: it places a text in a Tangut-language or Tangut-studies context.

Questions people ask
2Does the dot below in lwụ appear in 𗓎?
No. The dot belongs to the scholarly spelling of the reconstructed reading lwụ. It is not a mark added to the Tangut character.
Why does 𗓎 show as a square?
A font without Tangut glyph coverage cannot draw the character, so it may show a missing-character box. The text still contains 𗓎.
