What 𗡻 means
“Excrement” or “manure.” “Tangut 1787B” is an identifier, not a translation.
Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia, commissioned the Tangut script in 1036 for Buddhist scriptures and his state’s distinct identity. Its design drew on Chinese writing principles and the earlier Khitan script, another regional system. A manuscript from Khara-Khoto dates to the 12th or early 13th century; legal and trade records show wider use.
Literal in records; possibly protective in one name.
The “dog manure” name may be protective, not an insult.

1Why does 𗡻 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
