What 𗨭 means
The recorded sense is “disease.”
The 12th-century Wénhǎi (“Sea of Writing”), a Tangut dictionary, lists 𗨭 at locator Ping 66.253. Li Fanwen’s entry 3105 gives scholarly Latin-letter readings: zjịj or źjịj.
Around 1036, Western Xia, a state in northwestern China, used Tangut writing for official correspondence and Buddhist translation. The script drew visual ideas from Chinese writing and earlier Khitan writing, but that influence does not establish this glyph’s ancestry. Buddhist inscription pillars dated 1502 show Tangut writing continued after the Xia.
Historical Tangut vocabulary preserved in dictionaries and inscriptions.
Chinese-like strokes reflect script-level influence, not a reason to read 𗨭 as Chinese.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗨭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
