What 𗪁 means
Its dictionary gloss is “loose.” A Tangut dictionary compiled by Li Fanwen lists it as entry 2668.
Tangut writing was devised around 1036 under Li Yuanhao, ruler of the Western Xia state, to support government and a Buddhist canon—a collection of Buddhist scriptures—in Tangut. It drew on Chinese and earlier Khitan scripts without being derived from Chinese, and served official, private, religious, legal, and literary texts. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut writing continued into the Yuan and early Ming dynasties; a known inscription is dated 1502.
