What 𗯒 means
Its Unicode name labels the code point, not its Tangut reading.
The Tangut script writes the Tangut language; a text or lexicon identifies 𗯒’ word.
The script was promulgated in 1036 under Li Yuanhao for Western Xia. A central project was a Tangut Buddhist canon; translations also covered Chinese classics, encyclopedias, military works, and literature. After Western Xia fell in 1227, later texts were mostly Buddhist; the Yuan printed a Tangut canon in 1307.
Is 𗯒 Chinese?
No; it belongs to a distinct script that writes Tangut.
Chinese and neighboring Khitan peoples’ writing traditions shaped its design.
Its on-screen form depends on the installed Tangut font.
A Chinese-looking structure is not a Chinese reading.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗯒 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
