Tangut Character 17D9E

3487/6136

𗶞 is a character in the Tangut script, used to write the language of Western Xia (Xixia). Commissioned in 1036 for correspondence, the script later carried Buddhist translations, laws, histories, and literature. Like Khitan rulers, Tangut used a distinct script to mark state identity, drawing on Chinese writing. After the 1227 fall of Western Xia, texts continued; religious inscriptions date to 1502, and this glyph needs a Tangut font.

What 𗶞 means

No. Tangut is a separate script for the Tangut language. Its characters may remind you of Chinese writing, but the two systems cannot be read as one another.
