What 𗺦 means
No standalone gloss is secure as of 2026. Dictionaries write the reconstructed reading as rur¹ (plain-text rur1); ¹ marks tone. The pair 𘀔𗺦 renders a Chinese water-plant term, not a gloss for 𗺦 alone.
Is 𗺦 Chinese writing or Tangut?
It is Tangut text, not Chinese writing or emoji. Western Xia was a kingdom whose first emperor ordered the Tangut script around 1036 for official and cultural work. Texts include Buddhist and other translations from Chinese and Tibetan. Use continued under the Yuan and Ming after Western Xia fell; the script became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
