What 𗻓 means
The index labels locate it; they are not a gloss.
Unicode builds Tangut names from character numbers. The index lists it as L2272 and Clauson #2886.
Is 𗻓 Chinese, and why can Tangut characters look different across fonts?
It is Tangut, not Chinese; unified variants can render differently.
Tangut writing began under Western Xia’s first emperor about 1036, serving official, private and religious texts, including Buddhist sutras.
Western Xia fell in 1227; Tangut continued under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Tangut resembles Chinese writing, but it is a separate script. Unicode unifies source variants that do not change meaning, so fonts can draw different outlines.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗻓 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𗻓\17ED3Why is 𗻓 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
