What 𘊔 means
It names an insect in Tangut.
Li Fanwen's 2008 Tangut-Chinese Dictionary, a reference pairing Tangut entries with Chinese glosses, gives a broad category without naming a species.
The first Western Xia emperor commissioned Tangut around 1036 to build the state, write Buddhist texts, and distinguish it from Song China. The neighboring Khitan state had created its own scripts about a century earlier. Tangut writing followed the Chinese tradition of vertical columns but used its own characters for the Tangut language. It continued into the Yuan and Ming dynasties and was obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
Historical and specialist: this belongs in Tangut-language texts, not everyday Chinese writing.
A box usually means the device lacks a Tangut-capable font.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘊔 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
