What ༦ means
It marks a count, not a message tone.
Use this Tibetan 6 where Tibetan-script numbering is expected; without a Tibetan-capable font, it may appear as a box.
Tibetan writing and numeration took shape in the 9th century in a lineage linked to Gupta, an older script tradition from northern India. Classical Mongolian numerals developed from Tibetan in the 13th century. An 1863 account describes Tibetan numerals in calendrical nine-blot divination tables—tables marked in nine places—where sequence and color shaped the reading; ༦ alone still meant six.

Questions people ask
1Why does ༦ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
