What ☷ means
It is the Kun Earth trigram.
Two trigrams make a six-line hexagram for divination. Tradition places the bagua (eight trigrams) before the Book of Changes took shape under the Chou dynasty. Kun pairs with Qian (Heaven); commentary links it to the mother and support.
Is ☷ on the Korean flag?
Yes: on South Korea’s flag, it is Gon.
The Taegeukgi places Gon with Heaven, Water and Fire around a central yin-yang emblem. Its four-trigram design was first used on 25 September 1882; King Gojong made it Korea’s national flag on 6 March 1883. This is a later national use of the older system.
It signals I Ching divination or Korean national symbolism.
