What ☶ means
It means Gen: mountain, stillness, and knowing when to stop.
The Yijing, also known as the I Ching or Book of Changes, is a Chinese classic used for divination and philosophical interpretation. Within it, the Gen trigram is one of eight three-line signs.
An early physical witness to the tradition is the Mawangdui Yijing manuscript: found in 1973 in a tomb sealed in 168 BCE, it orders the hexagrams differently from the received text. That variation shows the tradition had more than one arrangement.
How does Gen work in a hexagram?
It supplies one half of a six-line reading.
Gen can form the upper or lower half of a hexagram, a figure made from two trigrams. Its position and its partner shape the combined reading, so ☶ alone does not give the full hexagram's meaning.
Why does ☶ look different in different fonts?
The character identifies a sign, not one mandatory drawing.
Fonts can vary its line weight, spacing, or proportions. Look for the three-line structure rather than one font's styling.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
