What 🭛 means
It supplies a sloping edge in pictures built from characters.
Imagine a screen divided into equal rectangular spaces, one per character. 🭛 fills a triangle within one space; the rest stays empty. Arranging pieces with different slopes lets a drawing have angled outlines instead of only square steps.
This piece belongs to teletext’s G3 smooth-mosaic set, at position 6A. Teletext, developed in Britain in the early 1970s, broadcast pages of text and simple graphics to televisions. Unicode preserves these graphic pieces so older displays can be represented as text.
A mosaic can look continuous or visibly tiled depending on gaps between its pieces. In a modern text drawing, the font and line spacing also affect how the pieces meet.

Questions people ask
2Why do I see a box instead of 🭛?
The app may lack a font containing this character. A box or replacement mark can stand in for the missing shape. A font that supports this character is needed to display it.
Is 🭛 an emoji with a message?
No. It is a text graphics character, with no standard emotional or conversational meaning. On its own, it supplies a shape; in a drawing, it supplies part of the picture.

🭛\1FB5BWhy is 🭛 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
