What ꄹ means
It is a Yi syllable for “say/is called,” not Chinese writing.
Liangshan Yi romanization writes “say/is called” as ddip; final p marks low-falling tone in questions. Traditional Yi scripts varied locally; village priests copied religious, magical, medical and family-history texts. One Tang-era story credits Aki with its creation. The 1485 bronze-bell inscription is the earliest clearly dated example; some scholars identify older Yi writing. The Liangshan Nuosu standard, devised in 1974 and promulgated in 1980, aimed to improve literacy.
