What ꌵ means
It is a Nuosu Yi verb meaning to host or treat someone. Nuosu examples gloss it as “treat,” “entertain,” or “provide for a guest.” The transcription zo55 marks a high, level “zo”; ssot is a Yi keyboard input.
A bronze-bell inscription dated 1485 is cited as the earliest surviving Yi-script example. Older regional forms carried religious, magical, medical, and family-history texts through priest lineages. The Liangshan standard, devised in 1974 and promulgated in 1980, adapted older Yi characters to improve literacy in Nuosu, not every Yi language.
