What 🮰 means
MouseText turns the B slot into a pointer. The Apple IIc brought MouseText to the Apple II in 1984; the enhanced Apple IIe added it later. These 32 small graphics let software draw mouse-driven desktop interfaces on the text screen. With MouseText active, slot $42 displays 🮰; outside that mode, it displays B.
Unicode gives the pointer its own character identity, so using it no longer depends on an Apple display mode.

1Why does 🮰 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
