What means
A five-cell tile in a 24 block mosaic.
These cells form two columns and four rows; “23468” names the filled positions. Kaypro microcomputers used such semigraphics in the early 1980s: programs switched cells on and off and lined up character-sized patches to sketch pictures. A 1983 Kaypro 10 guide describes the eight-pixel cell. The Kaypro character code DD maps to this exact pattern in its normal set; it is a machine-specific byte, not a Unicode value.

1Questions people ask
1Why does show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 16.0 (2024), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
