What 🬥 means

They list the filled cells. Each tile has two columns and three rows; neighboring sextants join into mosaics.

Teletext, a TV text-and-graphics service, used 23 mosaics in the early 1970s; TRS-80 computers did too. A 2017 Unicode proposal recorded both sources to preserve the graphics for conversion and emulators. The same grid suits terminal pixel art and charts.

Questions people ask

1

Why does it show as a box?

A missing-glyph box means the app cannot draw the symbol. A Zed report dated May 10, 2026, documents this on macOS when the terminal font lacks sextants.
