What 🬤 means
It builds small pictures inside a text grid. The “236” pattern lights the top-right, middle-left, and bottom-right cells of a six-cell tile; adjacent tiles can form a larger image.
Teletext, developed in the UK in the early 1970s, sent TV information pages with simple graphics using 2-by-3 mosaics. France’s Minitel, a home information service reached through phone lines, used similar graphics from the early 1980s until 2012. Teletext could show the mosaic cells joined or with narrow gaps.
A technical drawing tile for terminal graphics and retro-computing examples.
