What 㬙 means
It is the legacy form of 㬙.
Chinese dictionaries treat 㬙 as a variant of 暐, meaning “sunlight.” The Kangxi Dictionary, a reference book for Chinese characters, cites the older Yupian dictionary for that gloss. Both forms are read wěi in Mandarin, but use different components as sound clues. Unicode kept the separate source form for Taiwan’s CNS 11643-1992 text standard, so data can travel into and back out of that character set without losing its original position.
Questions people ask
