What 餩 means
It represents a choking or belching sound.
The Yùpiān, a Chinese character dictionary from the sixth century, glosses 餩 as “to choke”; the Guǎngyùn, a pronunciation dictionary from the eleventh century, calls it “the sound of choking.” CNS 11643-1992 is Taiwan's coded character set; T4-5523 identifies its source entry. Unicode keeps 餩 separate so conversion from CNS to Unicode and back can preserve that identity. Normalization maps it to 餩, so keep this form when the source code matters. The sequence 餩︀ contains an invisible selector that requests its associated glyph variant, if the font supports it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 餩 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
