What ㇟ means
The downward line, bend and hook form a single stroke.
A stroke is made without lifting the pen or brush. Here the movement goes down, rounds the bottom corner, continues right and hooks upward. Its Chinese name is 竖弯钩, or 豎彎鉤 in traditional characters. The label SWG comes from the initials of its Mandarin name in pinyin: shù means vertical, wān means bend and gōu means hook.
These strokes build Han characters, also known as kanji in Japanese and hanja in Korean. Writing a complete character does not mean typing its strokes separately: ㇟ is a way to show this particular part on its own. A font can change the curve and proportions without changing the stroke it represents.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
